This was my Dad's favorite dessert from his school days, this recipe is by my friend DeAnna, who lives in California!

Ingredients For apple brown betty

4 mdapples, peeled and sliced

1 cbread crumbs, dry

3 Tbspbutter, room temperature

1 tsplemon or orange peel, grated

1/2 csugar

1 tspcinnamon

3-4 Tbspfruit juice (i use apple)
How To Make apple brown betty

1Mix bread crumbs, butter, lemon or orange peel, sugar, and cinnamon. Place half of the sliced apples in a buttered baking dish. Cover with half of the bread crumb mixture. Add remaining apple slices and cover with remaining crumb mixture. Moisten with fruit juice. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes. Serve hot or cold with cream, whipped topping, or ice cream
