This salad is quick and easy to make. Tastes best after keeping in frig overnight to let ingredients absorb the flavors in the juices. This is a very colorful and pretty dish for party or everyday dessert. I made this for our work Xmas party and everyone loved it.

Ingredients For ambrosia salad

  • 1 lg can
    mixed fruit coctail
  • 1 jar
    maraschino cherries / optional
  • 1 1/8 can
    pineapple, crushed
  • 1 can
    mandarin oranges
  • 1 c
    cut up fresh fruit/ optional
  • 1/2 c
    walnut pieces/ optional
  • 1 pkg
    mini marshmallows
  • 1 pkg
    coconut, shredded
  • 1 pt
    sour cream

How To Make ambrosia salad

    Drain canned fruit
  • 2
    Mix fruit, walnut,coconut,mini marshmallows together well.

    Add sour cream and mix well.

    Cover and place in Refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours, overnight is better.

    Serve in dessert dishes. Everyone will swear it has whipped cream in it, but it doesn't.
