Oh my!!! I made a pan of this the other night when friends came over, and we ate the whole thing!! Serving it warm is the key, I think.

Ingredients For best bread pudding

  • french bread, day old
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 21/2 c
    milk
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • SAUCE
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    cream
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract or whiskey

How To Make best bread pudding

    Cube or tear enough bread to cover the bottom of a "Pammed" 9x13 " pan.

    Beat first 3 ingredients together. Gradually add sugar, mixing thoroughly as you go until sugar is dissolved. Pour over bread until all is saturated.

    Bake 325 degrees 50-60 minutes. Remove from oven and pour sauce over it.

    Sauce: Put all ingredients except vanilla extract or whiskey into a small sauce pan. Bring just to a boil on low heat. Remove and add vanilla or whiskey. Pour over hot bread mixture.
