I got this recipe from a magazine years ago tweeked it to my taste. I really like it because its really simple to make. Enjoy.

Ingredients For pear and cheddar pie

  • 6 lg
    ripe pears(peeled and thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar1
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell
  • TOPPPING
  • 1/2 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    butter

How To Make pear and cheddar pie

    In a large bowl combine pears, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  • 2
    Toss gently to coat pour into pie shell.
  • 3
    Combine cheese, sugar, flour, and salt. Using pastry cutter cut butter into above mixture until crumbly.

    Sprinkle over filling.
  • 5
    Bake in 425 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until crust is brown and cheese is melted.
