old fashioned peach pie

This was the first fresh fruit pie I ever made. I got the recipe from a Bon Appetit magazine in the 70''s. However, I used my Granny Leda's pie crust since it was the best. This is not your typical mushy peach pie.I think you'll like it.

Ingredients For old fashioned peach pie

5 cfresh sliced peaches
-
juice of 1/2 of a lemon

2/3 csugar
-
1/4 cflour
-
1/4 tspcinnamon
-
1/8 tspnutmeg
-
3 Tbspbutter cut into bits

unbaked pie crusts
How To Make old fashioned peach pie

1Mix peaches, sugar, lemon, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into crust.

2Dot top with butter.

3Seal edge of crust with juice or water.

4Slit top of pie to let juice steam out

5Baste top with milk, sprinkle with sugar

6Cover edge of crust with foil.

7Bake 45-50 minutes, removing foil for last 15 minutes.
