My sweet daughter has been under the weather, so made her one of her faves. It made her day! This is not an overly strong chocolate pie. Just right. The sweetened milk gives it it's silky texture. Yum! Enjoy!

Ingredients For ~ creamy chocolate graham pie ~

  • CRUST
  • 1 2/3 c
    graham cracker crumbs
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • PUDDING
  • 1/3 c
    unsweetened, cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c
    corn starch
  • 1 2/3 c
    water
  • 1 - 14 oz
    can, sweetened condensed milk
  • 3
    large egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp
    softened, butter
  • fresh
    whipped topping & chocolate curls if desired for garnish

How To Make ~ creamy chocolate graham pie ~

    Mix together the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until evenly moistened. Press into a 9 inch pie plate and bake at 350 degrees F for 10-13 minutes, until lightly golden. Cool before filling.

    Filling: Combine the cocoa powder and cornstarch in a large (3 quart) saucepan.

    Add the water and whisk until smooth. Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks until smooth.

    Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Cook, whisking constantly, until mixture thickens (it should take about 5 minutes). When thick continue whisking for another 30 or 40 seconds,remove from the heat and whisk in the butter. When butter is melted, whisk in vanilla.

    Set a piece of plastic wrap over the surface and let cool for about 10 - 15 minute before pouring into the pie shell crust. Chill the pie for several hours.

    Top with whipped cream and some chocolate curls if desired.
