world class pumpkin bars

I love pumpkin bars but could never find one I was satisfied with. I found a few recipes that were tolerable, then tweaked them to make it mine.

Ingredients For world class pumpkin bars

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4
    lg eggs, room temperature
  • 2 c
    pumpkin (1 16oz can)
  • 2 tsp
    pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 1 pkg
    cream cheese (8oz)
  • 1 1/2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 4 c
    powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp
    milk
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract

How To Make world class pumpkin bars

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Mix all ingredients together and pour on a greased 11 1/2 x 19 baking pan. Bake for 30 min. then frost when cool.

    For Frosting: the amounts that I have given for the frosting can be cut in 1/2 if you don't like thick frosting. Cream together the last 5 ingredients (cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk & vanilla) together til creamy. Frost cake. Enjoy!
