Found this in my mother's recipe collection. She was the best cook that I ever knew so here is her icing recipe.

Ingredients For bakery icing

  • 1/3 c
    shortening
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond butter
  • 2 c
    sifted powdered sugar

How To Make bakery icing

  • 1
    Combine all ingredients. Beat until fluffy. Makes enough icing to ice one cake.
