I enjoy these bars, they're kind of tart, yet also kind of sweet. I love the combination of the apples and strawberry gelatin in the bars.

Ingredients For apple bars
- CRUST:

1/2 cupbutter, softened

1-1/4 cupsflour

1 tsp.baking powder

1 cupmilk
-
1egg
- FILLING:

4 cupsapple slices

1 (3 oz.)box strawberry gelatin
- TOPPING:

1 cupflour
-
3/4 cupsugar
-
1/2 cupbutter, softened
How To Make apple bars

1Mix the crust ingredients together, then press the crumb mixture into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.

2For the filling: Arrange apple slices over the crust mixture, then sprinkle the strawberry gelatin over the apple slices.

3For the topping: Mix the flour, sugar, and butter together until crumbly, then sprinkle on top the apple filling.

4Bake in a 350º oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

5Cool completely.

6Refrigerate for several hours, before cutting into bars.
