A wonderful dessert made w/ frsh apples. You can always toast the pecans first in a 400 degree oven for about 8-10 mins to bring out their flavor more. I serve w/ homemade whipped cream.

Ingredients For slow-cooked apple crisp w/ pecans

  • 5 lg
    granny smith apples, peeled, cut into thick chunks
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 3/4 c
    flour
  • 3/4 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make slow-cooked apple crisp w/ pecans

    Spray a 6-quart slow-cooker w/ cooking spray. Place apples in cooker. Drizzle w/ lemon juice and stir to coat.

    In bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Cover, cook on high for 2-1/2 hrs. Sprinkle w/ pecans and serve.
