Ingredients For gram's famous peach cobbler
- FILLING:

1/2 csugar

1 Tbspcornstarch

1/4 tspcinnamon
-
4 cpeeled, sliced fresh peaches (about 6)

2 tspfresh lemon juice
- BATTER:
-
1 call purpose flour
-
2 Tbspsugar
-
1 1/2 tspbaking powder
-
1/4 tspnutmeg
-
1 dashsalt
-
3 Tbspbutter
-
1/2 clight cream or half-and-half
-
1/2 tspvanilla extract
- TOPPING
-
1 Tbspbutter, melted and cooled

1 1/2 tspsugar
How To Make gram's famous peach cobbler

1For filling: combine sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon in a large saucepan. Stir in peaches and lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Pour into a 2-quart greased baking dish.

2For batter: combine flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in light cream and vanilla just until moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto filling.

3For topping: brush batter with butter. Sprinkle sugar on top. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 400 degree oven, for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with ice cream, if desired.
