This recipe was created from an old recipe. I added nuts to the crust. I also added maple syrup and butter to the filling. I topped it off with a white chocolate maple drizzle. Enjoy!

Ingredients For maple walnut cookie bars
- COOKIE CRUST

1/3 clight brown sugar

1/2 csoftened butter

1/3 cground walnuts
-
1 1/3 cflour
- FILLING
-
1/4 cbutter
-
2/3 cbrown sugar
-
1/4 cmaple syrup
-
1 tspcinnamon
-
1 1/2 cchopped walnuts

3 Tbspheavy cream
-
1 tspvanilla
- VANILLA MAPLE DRIZZLE

white chocolate chips

How To Make maple walnut cookie bars

1Heat oven to 350 degree's. Combine all ingredients for the cookie. It's easier to use your hands. Combine well. Press dough in to an 8 inch square parchment lined pan. You can use foil if you grease it well.

2Bake at 350 until edges are slightly browned. Remove from oven and set aside.

3Make the filling. In a sauce pan. Combine all ingredients together except for the nuts,and vanilla. Stir and cook over high heat until boiling. Reduce heat to medium high.Stir until the mixture gets thickened. This should take about 7-10 minutes.

4Add the vanilla and nuts. Pour on top of cookie crust. Spread mixture evenly on top. Place back in oven and bake about 20-30 minutes. The filling will look thick and browned nicely.

5Remove from oven and cool. Cut in to squares. Serve alone,or with ice cream on top.
