Ingredients For sugar cookies
- COOKIE DOUGH

2 1/2 cflour

1 tspbaking powder

1/4 tspnutmeg

1 cbutter, softened

1 csugar

1egg
-
2 Tbsporange juice
-
1 Tbspvanilla
-
colored sugars or sprinkles
- BUTTER CREAM ICING

1 cbutter, cold
-
3 cpowdered sugar
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
1/2 tspalmond extract
-
food coloring of choice
-
Splashmilk
How To Make sugar cookies

1Measure out flour, baking powder and nutmeg in a small bowl

2In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar

3Beat egg in small bowl
-
4Add orange juice and vanilla to egg and mix gently
-
5Add egg mixture and dry ingredients to butter and sugar mixture alternately
-
6Divide dough into thirds and refrigerate 2-3 hours
-
7Heat oven to 350 degrees

8Roll out dough (1/4" think) on a floured board, cut into desired shapes, then place on an ungreased cookie sheet one inch apart

9Sprinkle with colored sugars or bake plain to be frosted when cool

10Bake 9 minutes till edges are light brown

11While cookies are baking prepare buttercream icing

12Cream butter till smooth using electric mixer. Gradually add powdered sugar. Add flavorings and food coloring if desired. If icing is still too thick to frost add a splash of milk

13Frost cooled cookies and decorate as desired
