I love molasses cookies and obtained this recipe when baking dozens of cookies for our nearest veterans hospital holiday party. Large batches are wonderful when you must serve more than 100 people!

Ingredients For soft molasses cookies

1 csugar

3/4 csour cream

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/2 cshortening

1/2 cmolasses

1/2 tspsalt

1large egg

3 call-purpose flour

1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspground cinnamon

1 tspground ginger
How To Make soft molasses cookies

1Beat sugar, sour cream, butter, shortening, molasses and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed.

2Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by tablespoonful, 2 inches apart, on lined cookie sheet.

3Bake in 375 degree preheated oven for 9-11 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with sugar while warm. Cool for 1-2 minutes.
