I got this wonderful recipe from my friend Kim Webb about 30 years ago. I still make them every Christmas.

Ingredients For snickerdoodles

1/2 cbutter, softened

1/2 cshortening
-
1 1/2 csugar

2eggs
-
2 3/4 call purpose flour

2 tspcream of tartar

1 tspbaking soda
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
2 Tbspsugar
-
2 tspcinnamon
How To Make snickerdoodles

1Preheat oven to 400 derees.

2Mix thoroughly: butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs.

3Blend in flour, cream of tartar. baking soda and salt

4Shape into balls (1 tsp. each)

5Mix 2 Tbsp. sugar and cinnamon. Roll each ball in the cinnamon mixture.

6Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

7Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set.

8Remove immediately from cookie sheet and cool on a wire rack.
