My Mother made these at Christmas for as far back as I can remember. We always ate them first......probably not real healthy with all that butter, but OHHHHH are they good!

Ingredients For russian tea cakes

1 csoft butter

1/2 cpowdered sugar

1 tspvanilla

2 1/4 cflour
-
1/4 tspsalt

3/4 cchopped nuts
How To Make russian tea cakes

1Blend together butter, vanilla and powdered sugar.

2Sift together flour and salt and mix with first mixture.

3Stir in walnuts
-
4Chill dough.

5Roll into 1 inch balls. Place 2&1/2 inches apart on ungreased sheet. Bake until set but not brown. While sill warm, roll in powdered sugar. When cool roll in powdered sugar again.
