We have made these bars in my family for years! I usually make them at Christmas time. But, as my son, Nick, says, "These shouldn't be just a cookie for Christmas!". They are super easy and delicious!

Ingredients For mom's seven layer bars

  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    finely crushed graham crackers
  • 6 oz
    (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 6 oz
    (1 cup) butterscotch pieces
  • 1 1/2 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 14 oz
    can (1 1/3 cups) sweetened condensed milk

How To Make mom's seven layer bars

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Melt butter; stir in crushed graham crackers. Pat crumb mixture evenly in bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Layer, in order, chocolate pieces, butterscotch pieces, coconut, and walnuts. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over all.

    Bake in a 350 degree oven 30 minutes; cool. Cut into bars. Makes 36 to 48.
