deep dark chocolate chip cookies
This recipe is from the Hershey's chocolate lovers cookbook; they are my husbands favorite chocolate cookie. He doesn't care for nuts so the picture is without nuts. I've also made them with & without the chocolate chips; being a chocolate lover, I prefer them WITH the chips! They remind me of a little brownie - yum!!

Ingredients For deep dark chocolate chip cookies

3/4 c(1 & 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

3/4 cgranulated sugar

1/2 cpacked light brown sugar

1 tspvanilla extract

2eggs
-
1 3/4 call-purpose flour
-
1/2 chershey's cocoa (unsweetened)

3/4 tspbaking soda
-
1/2 tspbaking powder
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
1 csemi-sweet chocolate chips
-
1/2 cchopped nuts (optional)
How To Make deep dark chocolate chip cookies

1Heat oven to 375 degrees.

2In large mixer bowl, beat butter, sugars and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed about 2 minutes until well blended. Add eggs; beat well.

3Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder & salt; gradually add to butter mixture just until blended.

4Stir in chocolate chips & nuts (if using). Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. (I rolled these into little balls)

5Bake 7 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute & remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
