chocolate cream cheese walnut bars

This recipe has been changed from a basic cheesecake bar. I turned it into a chocolate cheesecake bar with a walnut crumb topping. The original recipe was taken from an old church cookbook from the 70s or 80s. They are full of chocolatey goodness. Give these bars a try. I’m sure you’ll like them. Enjoy!

Ingredients For chocolate cream cheese walnut bars

1/4 csugar

8 ozpackage of cream cheese softened.

1egg
-
1 tspvanilla

1 tsplemon juice

2 Tbspmilk or cream

1/2 cmini chocolate chips
- CRUST AND TOPPING

1/3 cbrown sugar
-
1/2 cchopped walnuts
-
1/3 cmelted butter 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon

1 cflour
How To Make chocolate cream cheese walnut bars

1Mix the brown sugar,nuts,flour,and melted butter together until crumbly.

2Remove 3/4 cup of mixture and set aside for later.

3place the remainder of crumb mixture in to an 8 inch square pan.press firmly in the pan. Bake at 350 degree's for 12-15 minutes.

4beat the the cream cheese with the sugar. Add the egg,lemon juice,milk and vanilla. Mix together until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips.Pour this in to the crust.Top with the crumbs you set aside.

5bake at 350 for 25 min. Cool and cut in to squares. Keep refrigerated.
