1/2 cbutter, room temp or softened

1 cbrown sugar, lightly packed

1egg

1 tspvanilla extract

1 call purpose flour

1/2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspsalt

1/8 tspbaking soda

3/4 cchocolate chips

1/2 cnuts,chopped, optional
How To Make chocolate chip cookie bars

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or prepare a 9 x 9 inch pan with cooking spray.

2In a medium sized bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar egg and vanilla. Mix until well blended and fluffy.

3In separate bowl combine dry ingredients except chips and nuts. Mix well. Combine dry ingredients with butter mixture. Mix until blended. Add chips and nuts stir just to mix in - don't over mix.

4Put batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Ovens vary so keep an eye on them, they should be golden brown when done. Remove from oven and cool 30 minutes to 1 hour before cutting and serving.
