This is an easy go-to recipe that is delicious. It makes a small pan, but can be doubled to a 9x13. It's like having home baked cookies but much easier and faster!

Ingredients For chocolate chip cookie bars

  • 1/2 c
    butter, room temp or softened
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3/4 c
    chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c
    nuts,chopped, optional

How To Make chocolate chip cookie bars

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or prepare a 9 x 9 inch pan with cooking spray.

    In a medium sized bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar egg and vanilla. Mix until well blended and fluffy.

    In separate bowl combine dry ingredients except chips and nuts. Mix well. Combine dry ingredients with butter mixture. Mix until blended. Add chips and nuts stir just to mix in - don't over mix.

    Put batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Ovens vary so keep an eye on them, they should be golden brown when done. Remove from oven and cool 30 minutes to 1 hour before cutting and serving.
