Ingredients For cherry-almond snowballs

  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    almonds, chopped
  • 60
    red candied cherries
  • additional powdered sugar

How To Make cherry-almond snowballs

    In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Combine flour and salt, gradually add to creamed mixture, and mix well. Stir in almonds. Roll 1 t. dough around each cherry. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire rack to cool slightly. Roll in powdered sugar. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
