cecile's rich butter balls

I got this recipe from an old friend of my mother. She would put out a select few cookies and appetizers at the holidays and would carefully dole them out to the children of her friends. They were always good and always easy to make as I found out when my mother inherited her recipe box. As always (being from Missouri) using black walnuts as all or part of the nuts in this recipe will make it much better!

Ingredients For cecile's rich butter balls

1/2 lbbutter

4 Tbspsugar

2 cground walnuts

2 cflour
-
2 tspvanilla

1 cpowdered sugar (or so)
How To Make cecile's rich butter balls

1Combine all ingredients.

2Wrap and chill the dough overnight in the refridgerator.

3Using the palms of your hands, form dough into balls the size of a walnut.

4Bake at 300 degrees F for about 20 minutes. Do not let brown.

5Roll hot cookies in powdered sugar, then roll them again to coat them well.
