I remember my mom making this, when I was a little girl, however, I haven't got her recipe. I just like to "wing-it" and make it my way with what I have. Today, I used some fresh eggs that a friend gave us recently; they were blue eggs which I think come from Arauncana chickens.

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES. ASSEMBLE PUDDING BY LAYERING BREAD, THEN POUR MIXTURE OVER AND PAT DOWN AND LET REST A FEW MINUTES TO SOAK UP THE CHOCOLATE.
  • 2
DOT THE TOP WITH SMALL PIECES OF THE BUTTER AND SPRINKLE SUGAR OVER THE TOP. BAKE PUDDING FOR 45 MINUTES UNCOVERED.

REMOVE AND LET COOL ABOUT TEN MINUTES, BEFORE SERVING IF YOU LIKE IT VERY WARM. TOP IT WITH EITHER WHIPPED CREAM, VANILLA ICE CREAM OR A SAUCE OF YOUR CHOICE. I THOUGHT OF KAHLUA, OR HOT CHOCOLATE SAUCE WITH ICE CREAM! I ATE MINE PLAIN AND LOVED IT.
