I was given this recipe for the Rum butter sauce from a co-worker many years ago. A fiend of mine tried this and liked it. I hope you will too.

Ingredients For williamsburg rum butter sauce

1 cup brown sugar light/dark

2 tbsp cornstarch

1/2 cup butter
-
rind of 1 lemon plus 1/4 - 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

2 tbsp brandy
-
1/4 tsp nutmeg
-
1/2 cup of light rum
-
2 tbsp dark rum,
-
mincemeat pie, pound cake or christmas pudding
How To Make williamsburg rum butter sauce

1Blend sugar, and cornstarch together in 1 cup boiling water.

2Cook stirring over medium heat until thickened

3Add lemon rind, lemon juice, brandy, nutmeg , light and dark rum
-
4Cook 2 minutes, Stir
-
5Serve hot over mincemeat pie, pound cake or Christmas pudding

6Makes 3 cups of sauce
