WHITE HOUSE SPICE CAKE by first lady Mrs Theodore Roosevelt It doesn't say what temp to bake it at; so I'm going to guess 350* for approx. 30-45 min, or until pick comes out clean!!

    WHITE HOUSE SPICE CAKE by first lady Mrs Theodore Roosevelt 1 cupful of butter 2 cups of sugar 1 cupful of milk 4 eggs, well beaten 4 cupful flour 2 heaping teaspoonful baking powder 1 teaspoonful ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoonful nutmeg 1 teaspoonful ground cloves Beat to a cream one cupful butter and two cups sugar. Add one cupful milk, four well beaten eggs, four cupful flour sifted with two heaping teaspoonful baking powder, a teaspoonful ground cinnamon and a half teaspoonful nutmeg. Bake in a loaf.
