strawberry delight

I found this recipe in our local newspaper many years ago, and it has been a favorite ever since. what's different about this recipe is that the marshmellows ooze up through the cake mix as it's baking, making like a melted marshmellow and strawberry cake texture. We usually eat it without frosting it's that good.

Ingredients For strawberry delight

  • 1 bag
    miniature marshmellows
  • 1 pkg
    white cake mix
  • 2 c
    sliced strawberrys
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 pkg
    3 oz. strawberry flavored gelatin
  • whipped cream or cool whip
  • sliced strawberrys

How To Make strawberry delight

  • 1
    Place a layer of marshmellows on bottom of 9x13 in. pan. Prepare cake mix as directed on the box.

    Pour prepared cake batter over marshmellows.
  • 3
    Mix strawberrys, sugar and dry gelatin together; stir well. Pour strawberry mixture over cake mix
  • 4
    Bake at 350 degrees 40 to 45 minutes (325 degrees if glass pan is used).

    Cool, then frost with whipped cream or cool whip Garnish with sliced strawberrys.
