This is a cake recipe I go to again and again. Is light and just sweet enough.

Ingredients For grasshopper angel

  • 1 box
    angel food cake mix
  • 24 lg
    marshmallows
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 2 Tbsp
    creme de menthe
  • 2 Tbsp
    creme de cacao
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1 pt
    whipping cream
  • dash
    green food coloring
  • toasted almond pieces (optional)

How To Make grasshopper angel

  • 1
    Prepare angelfood cake mix as directed, cool.
  • 2
    Cook together marshmallows until melted, be careful not to scorch in the pan. Cool.

    Add Creme de Menthe, Cream de Cocoa and salt. Color to a deep green with the food coloring. Chill until mixture is cold and jelly-like.

    Whip the pint of whipping cream. Add to this the green jelly-like mixture, mix well.

    Split the cake into three layers. Frost with the whipped frosting and top all with toasted almond pieces.
