An absolutely delicious, dense cake with delicious cinnamon cream cheese frosting. You won't want to share this yummy cake, once you try it...I just frost this cake as served...it's so good, it really doesn't need frosting...Yum! My photos

1 cboiling water

1/2 cunsalted butter, softened

1 csugar

1 cbrown sugar, lightly packed

2eggs

1banana, smashed
-
1 tspvanilla extract

1/2 cbuttermilk

1 1/2 cdiced, apples

1 1/2 cflour
-
1 1/2 tspbaking soda

1 tspground cinnamon

1/2 tspsalt

1/2 tspnutmeg
- FROSTING

4 ozcream cheese, softened
-
6 Tbspbutter, softened
-
1 Tbspmilk or cream
-
1 tspvanilla extract
-
1/2 tspcinnamon

3 cconfectioners' sugar
How To Make gone banana's & apple oatmeal cake

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour and 9 x 13 pan. Set aside. Pour boiling water over oats in a bowl. Leave sit for 20 minutes.

2In a large bowl, beat butter with sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add oats, buttermilk and smashed banana. Blend well. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat to incorporate.

3Sift flour with baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add to the batter and stir just until dry ingredients are no longer visible. Stir in apples.

4Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a pick comes out clean.

5Remove cake from oven. Cool completely in pan.

6While cake cools, make frosting. Beat cream cheese with butter until smooth and creamy. Add milk, vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until frosting is smooth and spreadable. Frost cake and enjoy! I frost as I serve.
