2 csugar, granulated

1 cvegetable shortening

2 1/2 call purpose flour

1 tspbaking soda

1 pkgbakers german sweet chocolate squares

1 cbuttermilk

1 tspvanilla extract

3 lgegg whites
How To Make german chocolate cake

1Preheat oven to 350
-
2Cream sugar and shortening together
-
3mix dry ingredients together and then add to creamed mixture

4Melt chocolate in 1/2 cup of boiling water and then add to cake

5Add buttermilk and vanilla
-
6Now lastly add 3 beaten egg whites
-
7pour into 2, 9 inch greased and floured cake pans and bake 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Do not over bake.

8Then ice with homemade boiled icing with coconut and chopped pecans
