Ingredients For carmel pecan spice cakes

  • 1 box
    1 box of duncan hines moist delux spice cake mix
  • 1
    package 4 serving size vanilla instant pudding and pie mix
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1cup c
    water
  • 1/3 cup
    crisco oil
  • CARMEL GLAZE
  • 3 tab Tbsp
    butter or margarine
  • 3 tab Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 3tab Tbsp
    granulated sugar
  • 3 tab Tbsp
    whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup
    confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 tea tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • pecan halves for garnish
  • maraschino cherries halves for garnish

How To Make carmel pecan spice cakes

    Pre heat oven to 350, Grease and Flour 2 loaf pans 8 -1/2 x 4- 1/2 X 2-1/2 inch loaf pans. For cakes combine cake mix,pudding mix, eggs, water,and oil in large bowl, Beat at a medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes, stir in lightly toasted pecans,Pour batter into pans equal amounts. Bake at 350 for 60 minutes,or until tooth pick comes out clean.Cool in pans 15 minutes, loosen loafs from pans, on to a cooling rack.turn right side up.Cool completely.

    For caramel glaze combine butter, brown sugar granulated sugar and whipping cream in a small heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil on medium heat, boil 1 minute remove from heat, cool 20 minutes. Add confectioners sugar and vanilla extract, blend with wooden spoon until smooth and thick. Spread evenly on cooled loafs. Garnish with Pecan halves and maraschino cherries before Glaze sets. You can decorate your loaves how ever you like. I wrap them in plastic, then tie a beautiful Ribbon around the whole cake. Starting from the bottom. Ending up with bow at top in middle.
