I've made this cake before with lemons. It's moist and delicious. Add a little orange liquor, and orange peel, to whipped cream and add a big helping to a slice of warm cake . Ice cream is awesome too!

Ingredients For blood orange flute cake

  • 1 box
    orange cake mix
  • 1 pkg
    orane jello
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1/3 c
    fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tsp
    orange rind
  • 1/3 c
    water
  • 2/3 c
    blood orange olive oil
  • GLAZE
  • 1 c
    confectioners' sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    orange juice, fresh
  • 1 tsp
    lemon peel, grated
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange liqueur

How To Make blood orange flute cake

    Combine the cake mix, lemon gelatin, eggs, oil, and water. Beat at slow speed for one minute. beat on medium for two minutes.

    Pour into a well oiled 10" flute pan. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes. Check at 35 minutes with a toothpick.

    Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pan and poke small holes all over cake.

    While cake is baking, combine glaze ingredients. Drizzle over warm cake. Cool before cutting.
