Ingredients For blackberry cake

  • 1 c
    blackberries
  • 1 c
    buttermilk
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 3 c
    cake flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    pumpkin pie spice or 2 teaspoons nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon
  • 1 c
    butter
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 6
    eggs, beat yokes fold in whites at the very last
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make blackberry cake

    Combine Blackberries, Buttermilk and Baking Soda
  • 2
    Combine Dry Ingredients
  • 3
    Combine Butter, Sugar and Egg Yokes, add blackberries, buttermilk and baking soda, add dry ingredients, add pecans. Pour into 2 floured 9 inch layer cake pans, bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes
