I love a good apple cake ... ! It's always a hit at gatherings .. and so much better the next day.

Ingredients For jewish apple cake

  • 3 c
    unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 3 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    oil
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    real vanilla
  • 4
    large egg, unbeaten
  • 1/4 c
    orange juice
  • 4
    large apples, peeled, slices/diced
  • 4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 5 Tbsp
    sugar

How To Make jewish apple cake

  • 1
    Beat together until smooth -- flour, 2.5 cups sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla, oil, eggs, and juice.

    In a separate bowl, mix apples, cinnamon and 5 Tbls sugar.

    Layer the batter and apples in a greased tube pan, switching back and forth until it is all used up. (I like to end with some batter on top.)

    Bake 350 for 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 hours.
