I made two pans of these apple bars, as a treat for my Church family tomorrow...I always love surprising them with something different. I believe they will really enjoy them, as they are awesome!! I bet you can't eat just one...so, so good! Enjoy!

Ingredients For ~ apple awesomeness ~

  • 1/2 c
    butter - melted
  • 1 c
    each - light brown sugar & regular sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp
    vanilla ~ I use 2
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 - 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    apples, peeled, cored and chopped (about 1 large apple) ~ I used granny smith
  • TOPPING MIX
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 - 2 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make ~ apple awesomeness ~

    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with non stick cooking spray. Pour the melted butter into a large mixing bowl, to this add the sugars,vanilla and eggs. Using a spoon, combine well.

    Into the sugar mixture, add the flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Stir until well combined, batter will be thick. Fold in the apples and spread into prepared baking dish.

    In a small dish, combine sugar & cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over batter.

    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until pick comes out clean. Great served warm with ice cream. Equally as good as is. Enjoy!
