Neiman-Marcus Squares. I cut this recipe out of the newspaper forever-ago! Don't know when or where. :)) They are gone before the vacuum cleaner can get them!! hahaha. but true!

Ingredients For vacuum cleaner cookies

  • 1/2 c
    margarine, melted (not butter)
  • 1 box
    (18-25oz) plain yellow cake mix (not pudding added)
  • 3
    eggs
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 box
    (1-lb) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c
    angel flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c
    walnuts or pecans, chopped

How To Make vacuum cleaner cookies

    heat oven 325. Bake 45-50 minutes. 15x10" jellyroll pan, well greased
  • 2
    Combine margarine, cake mix and 1 egg. Stir together until dry ingredients are moistened. Pat mixture into bottom of pan.

    Beat remaining 2 eggs lightly, then beat in cream cheese and powdered sugar. Stir in coconut and nuts. Pour over mixture in jellyroll pan, spreading evenly.

    Bake until golden brown. Cool pan on wire rack, until room tempture. Cut into squares.
