I've been making these cookies since I was old enough to use the oven. I've made them so many times I don't need to look at the recipe anymore.

Ingredients For tollhouse cookies

  • 2 stick
    margarine
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 2 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 12 oz
    bag chocolate chips
  • chopped walnuts (optional)

How To Make tollhouse cookies

    In a mixing bowl, cream together margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract. Add eggs, mix well.

    Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; stir well. Mix in chocolate chips and walnuts (if you're adding them).

    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire cooling rack.

    To make pan cookies: Spread cookie dough into a 9X13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
