I love the name of these cookies. Had this at a cookout and some of the single gals really agreed with the name!!! They are awesome!

Ingredients For the best date i ever had

  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, packed
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    rolled oats
  • 1 c
    pecans, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c
    dates, chopped
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    freshly grated orange peel
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp
    orange juice

How To Make the best date i ever had

    Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar on medium high until fluffy; about three minutes. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla. Reduce speed to low; add flour mixture, oats, pecans and dates. Mix until just combined; do not overmix. Drop by tablespoons on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 - 13 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

    Glaze: Whisk the powdered sugar, orange peel and orange juice to make a thin glaze. Transfer to a heavy duty sealable sandwich bag and snip a 1/16 inch opening in one corner. Place glaze evenly back and forth over the cookies. Let cookies sit before storing them. ENJOY!
