I make this at Christmas. It is one of our family's favorites. Everyone who trys it loves it. It's so easy and soooo good. This is super moist and makes a delicious dessert or serve for hoilday gethetings.

Ingredients For texas gold bars

  • 1
    yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 3
    egg
  • 1 c
    shredded coconut
  • 1 c
    chopped pecan
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese

How To Make texas gold bars

  • 1
    Mix together cake mix, 1/2 cup melted butter, and 1 egg, after mixing place the mixture in a 9x13" baking pan and pat down on all sides to fill the pan.

    Sprinkle with coconut and pecans over the top of mixture.

    Next mix the following ingredients and pour over the cake: 2 cups powder sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract and 8 oz of cream cheese.

    bake at 300 degreese for ( one ) hour . Let cool and cut into bars.
