These cookies are very special to me because the recipe came from my friend Teresa. Teresa moved out of the area many years ago and we eventually lost contact. But I always think of her when I make these cookies.

Ingredients For teresa's oatmeal sugar cookies

  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    butter, do not substitute
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 c
    oatmeal, uncooked

How To Make teresa's oatmeal sugar cookies

  • 1
    Mix together flour, butter, sugar, and salt like pie crust. (It will be crumbly).

    Add eggs, almond extract, and oatmeal. Mix well.

    Place rounded teaspoons of dough on cookie sheet. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass that has been dipped in sugar.

    Bake at 350 degees about 10 minutes or until brown around edges. Tastes and looks like a sugar cookie.
