I found this recipe in the Sunday food section of our local paper. Wow! These cookies are great if you like a lot of chocolate chips. Nuts are optional. They are good with or without the nuts. I store them in a can and they last 'forever'.

Ingredients For super chocolate chip cookies

1 cbutter (i use unsalted) room temperature

1 cbutter flavored shortening

1 1/4 cbrown sugar

1 cgranulated sugar

3eggs (room temperature)

1 Tbspvanilla extract

4 call purpose flour

1 1/2 tspbaking soda

2 tspsalt

6 csemi-sweet chocolate chips (2 1/2 lbs)

3 cchopped nuts (optional)
How To Make super chocolate chip cookies

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper

2Cream butter, shortening and sugars until creamy (about 3 minutes). Add eggs, on at a time, beating after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine flour, salt, baking soda and stir until blended. Add flour mixture, 1 cup at a time to butter mixture, mixing until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

3Drop a tablespoon of dough onto cookie sheet, placing about 2 inches apart. Bake about 12 minutes. Cool. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
