This recipe has been in our family about 70 years. It is the best sugar cookie I've ever tasted! The cook time is 8 to 12 minutes depending on how chewy or crispy you like them.

Ingredients For sugar cookies

1 cbutter (oleo) softened

1 cvegetable oil

1 csugar

1 cpowdered sugar

1 tspvanilla extract

2eggs

4 cflour

1 tspcream of tarter

1 tspsalt
How To Make sugar cookies

1Preheat oven to 350

2Throughly cream vegetable oil, butter and both sugars. Add vanilla and eggs.

3Sift dry ingredients. Stir in and blend. (I use my stand mixer on low for 30 seconds, then on medium speed just until mixed together).

4Roll a teaspoon of soft dough into a ball. Roll ball in granulated sugar. (I color or buy the sugar depending on the holiday or time of year).

5Press down on a lightly greased cookie sheet with a glass tumbler (use the bottom greased with a little dough), then dip the tumbler in granulated sugar.
