My son Brett always loved these cookies. He submitted this recipe to the newspaper when he was in elementary school. Brett is now a college student. When you try them you will see why he loves them. I usually double this recipe, because there is never enough.

Ingredients For snowball cookies

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c
    pecans, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c
    sugar, granulated
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • powdered sugar

How To Make snowball cookies

    Preheat oven to 325.
  • 2
    In a large mixer bowl, combine flour, nuts, granulated sugar, butter & vanilla.

    Beat at low spped, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, about 3-4 minutes.

    Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1 inch balls.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheets. I prefer parchment paper on cookie sheet, for easy clean up.

    Bake for 18-25 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Remove immediately. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm & again when cool.
