My recipe has been passed on through generations! It started with my great grandmother and has been passed to her daughter (my grandmother). The recipe was passed to me because of my love of baking starting at a young age. I have made it many times and is perfect with a glass of milk or hot cocoa for dessert.

Ingredients For shortbread snowballs

  • 1 lb
    butter, softened
  • 8 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 4 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 4 c
    flour
  • 12 oz
    ground pecans
  • about 2 c
    confectioners' sugar

How To Make shortbread snowballs

    Pre heat oven to 350 degrees
  • 2
    Mix butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, and pecans on high for 1 - 2 min. (until smooth)

    roll mixture into 1 inch diameter balls. Place onto non-greased cookie sheet .5 - 1 inch apart

    Bake for 18 - 20 minutes, cool

    toss cookies in confectoners' sugar. serve warm or room temperature
