Ingredients For self-frosted chocolate cookies

1 1/4 csiftedall purpose flour

3/4 Tbspsoda

3/4 tspsalt

1/2 cshortening, soft

3/4 cfirmly packed down brown sugar

1egg

2 Tbspmilk

1 tspvanilla

1 1/2 cquacker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
- TOPPING
-
four 1-oz. milk chocolate bars

pecan halves
How To Make self-frosted chocolate cookies

1Sift together flour, soda, and saltinto bowls. And add shortening, sugar, egg, milk and vinilla.Beat until smooth.Blend in oats. (dough will be quite stiff.)Form small balls; placed on greased cookie sheets,2 inches apart. flatten each with the bottom of a glass.Bake in a preheated oven (350.) 12 to 15 minutes

2Remove cookies from oven; immediatley place a small square of chocolate on each. Press a pecan half into softened chocolate.

3CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES: Mix one 6-oz. package (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate peices into dough. Form balls. Press a pecan half into each before making.
