How To Make santa's christmas cookies

  • 1
Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  • 2
Melt the butter in a microwave or on the stovetop. Set aside to cool for 15 minutes.
  • 3
After the butter has cooled, combine it in a large bowl with the sugar and brown sugar using a spoon to mix. Do not use an electric mixer! Add in one extra large egg, an additional extra-large egg yolk and the vanilla extract. Mix until well blended.
  • 4
Slowly add the flour mixture from step one into the bowl. Mix until the dry ingredients are absorbed.
  • 5
After the dough is mixed, add in the butterscotch chips and M & M's until blended.
  • 6
Cover the bowl loosely with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • 7
Preheat the oven to 350 and line your baking sheets with parchment paper while dough is cooling.
  • 8
Scoop dough by rounded 1 ½ Tablespoons and place them on the prepared cookie sheets two inches apart.
  • 9
Bake for 9-11 minutes until the cookie is just starting to brown. Do not worry if the cookie dough looks soft in the middle, it will firm up upon resting. Do not over bake.
  • 10
Let the cookies cool for 30 minutes and then transfer to a Tupperware container. Don't forget to leave some out for Santa!
