These cookies just melt in your mouth. They are a traditional Christmas Holiday favorite around my house.

Ingredients For russian teacakes

  • 1 c
    soft butter
  • 1/2 c
    sifted confectioners sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 3/4 c
    finely chopped nuts

How To Make russian teacakes

  • 1
    Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly. Measure flour by dip, level pour method or by sifting. Blend flour and salt, stir in. Mix in nuts. Chill Heat oven to 400o
  • 2
    Roll into 1" balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes. While still warm roll in confectioners sugar. Cool and roll again. Makes about 4 dozen 1" cookies
