This is another lost recipe that I'm so grateful to have found. It was published in 1999 in a church cookbook and I recently found the cookbook.

Ingredients For rocky road oatmeal cookies

  • 3 c
    uncooked oatmeal
  • 2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c
    malted milk powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    each: cinnamon, ground ginger, baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    each: ground cloves, nutmeg, salt
  • 3/4 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1 c
    raisins, chopped
  • 1 c
    miniature chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, coarsely chopped

How To Make rocky road oatmeal cookies

    Lightly grease cookie sheets.

    Combine dry ingredients; mix well and set aside.

    Beat sugars, butter, vanilla and egg until smooth.

    Gradually add dry ingredients; blend.
  • 5
    Fold in raisins, chocolate, marshmallows and nuts.

    Form rounded balls of dough from a tablespoon.

    Place each ball 1-1/2" apart onto prepared cookie sheets.

    Bake 14 minutes (for chewy cookie) or 17 minutes (for crispy cookies)

    Remove from oven and let cool on sheet for 1 minute.

    Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
