Received this recipe from my Grandma one of the first her and I made together. When making these she didn't use a mixer but I do.

Ingredients For raisin filled cookies

1 csugar

1/2 cbutter or margarine softened

1egg
-
1/2 cmilk

3 1/2 cflour
-
1 tspbaking soda
-
2 tspbaking powder
-
1/2 tspsalt
-
1 tspvanilla
- FILLING MIXTURE

1 cseedless raisins
-
1/2 cwater or orange juice
-
1 tsplemon juice
-
1/2 cwalnuts or pecans
-
1 csugar
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
1 1/2 cflour
How To Make raisin filled cookies

1Directions for filling mixture: Combine all ingredients and cook. Stirring over medium heat until thick. Cool before using.

2Blend sugar, butter and eggs until smooth.

3Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together, alternate with the milk.

4Mix thoroughly and roll out thinly on floured board cut into rounds with a 3" cookie cutter. I take my thumb and make an indent. Put 1 teas filling on each cookie and place another round on top. Crimp edges together. Make small vents.

5Bake in 375 degree oven about 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
