I remember eating these wonderful cookies when Mom baked them when I was little. The brown sugar frosting is incredible too!

1 cshortening

1 cpumpkin, canned

How To Make pumpkin cookies, mom's

1Mix shortening, sugar, egg, pumpkin, vanilla, flour, powder, soda, cinnamon and salt. Bake at 350 degrees 12-15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets and cool. Heat brown sugar, milk and butter to boiling, boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on cooled cookies.
