My mom used to make these little meringue cookies for Christmas every year. I had lost the recipe, but found it at my daughter's house. Yay! The original version uses brown paper bags to cover the cookie tins instead of parchment. Your choice!

Ingredients For petite parisiennes

2egg whites

1/4 tspsalt

1/4 tspcream of tarter

3/4 csugar

1/2 tspvanilla

1/2 cmini chocolate chips (or grated chocolate)

1/2 cfinely chopped nuts
How To Make petite parisiennes

1Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff peaks form.

2Add sugar gradually and continue beating until VERY stiff peaks form. Add vanilla, fold in chocolate and nuts.

3Drop by spoonfuls onto parchment lined cookie sheets. Bake 300º F for 20 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
